The basis of the activities of HBZS Ostrava is the primary provision of the mining rescue service for all contractual partners, but especially for OKD, a.s., mines. However, the professional experience and special equipment needed for rescue work is also used for other activities in extreme conditions. The mining rescue service is an integral part of mining activities. Its position and tasks are set out in the Mining Act, the Decree of the Czech Mining Authority on the Mining Rescue Service and the Staff Regulations approved by the Czech Mining Authority.
