Detection and indication
The Main Mining Rescue Station Ostrava offers work in the field of detection and indication:
- technical analyses of air composition by classical methods or on a gas chromatograph,
- arbitration analyses and assessments of air composition issues,
- temperature measurements with non-contact infrared thermometers,
- detection of heat sources and heat leaks by thermal imaging camera,
- detection of air drafts and leaks using the sulphur hexafluoride SF6 tracer gas,
- production of reference (calibration) gases,
- production of vials for emergency aromatic signalling,
- inspection and repair of indication and detection instruments (interferometers, aspirators, portable analysers with electrochemical sensors and catalytic combustion),
- inspection and repair of Dräger analysers,
- quality control of newly manufactured series of detection tubes for CO, CO2, H2S, NO + NO2, O2, including smoke and pre-flue tubes, their technical inspection for the possibility of extending their useful life,
- testing of filtering self-rescue devices,
- testing of insulating self-rescue devices,
- tests of working and auxiliary insulating regenerative breathing apparatus.
We are equipped with stationary and portable analyzers for the analysis of air samples and pressure gas mixtures for CO, CO2, CH4, O2, N2, H2S, SF6 and gaseous hydrocarbons from Maihak, Dräger, Servomex and a Dani gas chromatograph with FID, TCD and ECD detectors with a detection limit of 10-8, analytical instruments for calibration and calibration standards. Pure gases and calibration standards are supplied by Linde and Messer.
